Eric Devaux, new Dean of Ensait
The Board of the National School of Arts and Textile Industries, held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in plenary session elected Eric DEVAUX the functions of Director of Ensait.
After this first step, the proposal of the Board will be forwarded to the Minister of Higher Education and Research, which will decide the nomination through the publication of a decree.
Eric Devaux, 51, is the temporary administrator of ENSAIT since 1 June 2015. He took over the management of Ensait following the resignation of Jacques-Hervé Levy, former director of the Ensait. Heavily involved in the life of the Ensait he is an elected member of the Scientific Council and was elected to the Board until June 2015. Scientific Director of the European Centre for Innovative Textiles (CETI) since January 2013, he was also Director of Research and of the GEMTEX laboratory of ENSAIT from September 2002 to October 2009.
Eric Devaux is University Professor in Materials Chemistry (33 th section CNU), he holds a PhD in Macromolecular Materials and Composites (1992) and a Habilitation to supervise research in the field of interfaces (in 2000). He is the author of over 75 scientific publications, 185 communications in international and national congresses and 5 patents.
Ensait is one of the first European schools in its field since it forms nearly 70% of French textile engineers and 15% of European textile engineers. In this changing sector, the school has adapted to the new international situation. The school's research laboratory allows to contribute to research and innovation, such as to respond to the needs of the industry.
In the landscape of French higher education , also changing , especially for the engineering schools and universities of Lille, Eric Devaux will have to lead a major project.
